Hyderabad, March 14, 2013: YSR Congress has asked
the TDP to maintain its decorum as the main opposition party by supporting the
no confidence motion and not to shirk responsibility.
"It is time for TDP to support the no
confidence motion moved in the house as the Government has failed on all fronts
and there is resentment in all sections of people," the Party Deputy floor
leader Dharmana Krishna Das told reporters here on Thursday.
TDP issuing a whip to its members to abstain from
voting is undemocratic and is against the principles of parliamentary
democracy. It is not late for the leader of Opposition to extend support to the
no trust motion when it comes for voting in the House, he said.
"We hope wisdom will prevail on Chandrababu
Naidu and he will change his stand when the issue comes up for voting. TDP
members should come forward and should act in a responsible manner," he
said.
We have told that we will support TDP if it moves a
no confidence motion and as it failed to live up to expectations, we had to
table the motion. The state government is a total failure. Power charges have
been steeply increased and there is unprecedented power cuts affecting the
agriculture, industrial and domestic sectors.
Farmers, weavers, students, small and medium
industries, students, women and all sections are affected with the increase in
power charges, bus fares, agriculture inputs and heavy taxes.
"It is our responsibility to vent the ire of
the people in the House and no confidence motion is one such tool. TDP should
also join the voice of public resentment in the form of no confidence motion
failing which it loses the sanctity of being the main opposition," he
said.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has reversed all
the welfare schemes introduced by YSR and his faulty decisions resulted in many
hardships to the common man. The state is groping in darkness and is reminding
of the nine year rule of N Chandrababu Naidu, who has increased power charges
eight times in his nine year term.
No confidence is one chance to highlight the
failures of the State Government and if someone does not want to be part of the
proceedings, it will be clear to the people that they have a different agenda,
he said.
