TDP policies anti-people: YS Jagan

Dharmavaram (Anantapuram dist), Jan 7:
Lambasting the TDP government for its apathy towards weavers, farmers, women,
students, pensioners and other sections of the society, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
said that there weavers were committing suicides as the State failed to keep up
its poll promises.

‘There have been 16 suicides from the
weaving community in this Dharmavaram constituency alone during the 20 months
of TDP coming to power, mainly due to the government going back on its poll
promises,’ the Leader of Opposition said during a public interaction
here on Thursday as part of the Rytu Bharosa Yatra.

Chandrababu Naidu has assured to provide
housing, sheds, power, waiver of loans and 1.5 lakh interest-free loans to
wavers but none of the promises was fulfilled which has pushed the weaving
community into penury resulting in the suicides, he said.

Before elections, Chandrababu Naidu went
on a promises spree announcing that he would waive loans of farmers and DWACRA
groups, besides sops to weavers, jobs to youth and unemployment stipend. After
coming to power he did not fulfill a single poll promise and had ditched all
sections of people. During elections the publicity was on a high voltage and he
used every medium to publicise his promises but once he came to power they were
all pushed aside.

The YSR Congress Party President has
called on to the dais, locals to narrate their plight and they poured their
woes out and flayed Chandrababu Naidu for the failure to keep up his promises.
Farmers, weavers, women have narrated their plight as to how they were deprived
of loans and were rejected by the banks. They have also brought to light the
discrimination being meted out on them as they voted for YSR Congress during the
previous elections.
