Sharmila’s Yatra unique in many ways

YSR Congress Party’s
Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra, being led by party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan
Reddy’s sister Sharmila, will make history in the sense that it would be the
first of its kind by a woman in the country.
Compared to any other
Padayatra by political leaders including her father the late YSR, Sharmila’a
Yatra would be unique in several ways.
First, no other leader
has walked the distance of 3000 km which Sharmila proposes to walk with the
sole aim of interacting with people on a massive scale and understanding their
problems face to face apart from highlighting the failures of the Congress
Government and exposing the conspiracy of the TDP and Congress hatched out
against Jagan.
Secondly, Sharmila may
take more than six months to cover the path-breaking distance of 3000 km
assuming she would walk 15 km per day on an average. This will be a record as no
other leader has spent so many days walking, meeting and interacting with
people.
Next, the young woman
is likely to touch more than 12,000 villages during her walkathon as the party
is trying to ensure Sharmila will walk her way to Ichchapuram through as many
as 125 constituencies spreading over 16 districts with no one crisscrossing
that much length and breadth in the past.
The first five days of
her schedule shows she is covering more than 30 villages and at this rate she
would touch more than 12000 villages in her total padayatra schedule. This also
means she would meet highest number of people during her Padayatra like no
other leader has done so far.
