Tadepalli, Sept 9: YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that he will begin a statewide Padayatra in September or October 2027. He said the people have already begun comparing the five years of YSRCP governance with the present Chandrababu Naidu government and are clearly seeing the difference.
Addressing YSRCP local body representatives, leaders and key followers from Parchur Assembly constituency in Bapatla district at the party central office, Jagan said YSRCP had given credibility to its manifesto by implementing 99 per cent of its promises. In contrast, Chandrababu Naidu distributed bonds carrying his and Pawan Kalyan’s signatures before the elections but abandoned the promises after coming to power.
Jagan said the YSRCP government took governance to people’s doorsteps through village secretariats and volunteers for every 50 households. Welfare schemes were implemented transparently without bribes or discrimination, with an annual welfare calendar announced during the Budget.
Highlighting reforms in education and healthcare, he said government schools were transformed through Nadu-Nedu, bilingual textbooks, digital classrooms, TOEFL training and tablets for Class VIII students. Aarogyasri coverage was expanded from 1,000 to 3,300 procedures with treatment up to Rs 25 lakh. Village Clinics, Family Doctor services and 18 new medical colleges were also taken up.
He said Rythu Bharosa Kendras, e-Crop registration and price-monitoring mechanisms were introduced to support farmers and ensure remunerative prices.
Jagan accused Chandrababu Naidu of deceiving people with promises of Rs 15,000 for every school-going child, Rs 18,000 annually under Aadabidda Nidhi, Rs 26,000 for farmers, Rs 48,000 annually under Cheyutha and Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment allowance. He said people now realise the difference between a government that kept its word and one that failed to honour its promises.
On local body elections, Jagan alleged that the government was using the issue of 34 per cent BC reservations and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls as excuses to delay elections. He also accused the government of misusing police machinery, filing cases and arresting those who questioned it.
Calling the coming political battle a “Kurukshetra Sangramam,” Jagan urged party cadres to stand firmly with the people and fight any misuse of official machinery. Recalling the 2017 Nandyal by-election and subsequent political developments, he said repression could never ensure permanent political success.
“Whenever and however elections are held, YSRCP will stand with the people. If elections are conducted fairly, YSRCP will emerge victorious. Even if they are not, we will fight strongly,” Jagan said.
