Anantapuram, Oct 27,
2012: YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila on
Saturday participated in a Rachchabanda programme with women at Badangapalle
after visiting groundnut crop fields and interacting with farmers.
Women in large numbers participated
in the Rachchabanda Programme and complained to Sharmila about their problems.
The major complaint they have brought to the notice of Sharmila is about the
severe drinking water scarcity faced by the area.
“We are facing severe
drinking water problem here and despite our complaints, no Government official
has cared to visit our village and solve the issue,” they told her.
Sharmila told them that
the Government has no time to think of the people’s problems. The Government
will come to know of the people’s problems only when Chief Minister Kiran Kumar
Reddy’s wife walks for 3 km to fetch water, she said in a sarcastic vein,
adding that the people are suffering while CM is happily sitting in comforts in
his camp office.
Sharmila also
participated in prayers at a Masjid at Badangpalle on the occasion of Bakrid
and extended her Bakrid wishes to the Muslim brethren.
