Sharmila beats Naidu’s Padayatra record

Sharmila, July 17,
2013: Reaching yet another milestone, Smt. Y.S. Sharmila, who has been
undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress chief Sri
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has overtaken the Padayatra record of TDP chief
Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday.

She has completed
walking a distance of 2819.4 km as on 211^th day on Tuesday as
against Naidu’s Padayatra record of 2817 km in 208 days.

While Chandrababu
walked through 16 districts during his Padayatra, Smt. Sharmila walked through
1784 villages in 184 Mandals, 40 Municipal towns and 9 Corporations
encompassing 108 assembly constituencies across 13 districts.

She had participated in
194 Rachchabanda programmes and addressed 155 public meetings during her
Padayatra spread over 472 km in three districts of Rayalaseema, 765.6 km in four
districts of Telangana and 1581.8 km in six districts of coastal region.
