This is a rebirth: YS Vijayamma on YS Jagan attack

YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma expressed her gratitude to the people of Andhra Pradesh for their prayers and blessings following the murder attempt on her son, leader of opposition in AP Assembly and YSRCP chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She said she was indebted to all sections of society including women,  party supporters, leaders, workers and followers of late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy and all those who blessed him and prayed for him. Addressing a media meet at party headquarters in Hyderabad, YS Vijayamma reminded the press that the YSR family and the people of Andhra Pradesh shared a special bond spanning over 45 years. She recalled that people of the state showered unconditional love on late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

The honorary president of YSRCP reminded the media of YS Jagan's words that following his untimely demise,  Dr YSR left a large family for him all over the state. Recounting the murder attempt on YS Jagan at the Visakhapatnam airport on October 25, she said that the YSRCP chief had a providential escape which she could only describe as a rebirth.

She recollected her words in a plenary meeting seven years ago when she said that she was playing YS Jagan in the hands of the people of the state. She added that she would reiterate this statement once again. The honorary president of YSRCP  reminded the people of Andhra Pradesh that  after the demise of Dr YSR,  YS Jagan had constantly been amidst the masses barring the sixteen months he was imprisoned in a slew of false cases. She added that throughout this period,  YS Jagan had been with the people and he could cover a distance of 3200 Kms on his Praja Sankalpa Yatra only because of the masses. It was the people of the state who stood by him and protected him all along. YS Vijayamma sought to know why the prediction such as one which said that a murder attempt would take place on the leader of opposition in AP Assembly were not probed. It was being said that the conspirators had originally plotted to attack YS Jagan during the course of his padayatra in Guntur or Godavari districts, but this was not possible because of the overwhelming number of people at every step of the way, who would have protected the mass leader. Therefore,  the airport area was chosen, it is said.
She further posed a pointed question as to how there could be no security for the leader of opposition in the VIP lounge of an airport. YS Vijayamma demanded to know how a weapon could be smuggled into the airport where even a pin is not permitted.
From the reaction of the TDP Government, it is clear that there is an orchestrated attempt to play down the murderous attack on YS Jagan. There has been no progress in the so-called Inquiry into the case and importantly,  the restaurant owner has not been questioned thoroughly. The chief minister and DGP of AP sprung into action immediately after the incident trying to downplay it. Other TDP leaders have also made cheap allegations describing it as a minor injury with a small knife. She questioned as to why Chandrababu Naidu was scared of a CBI probe. The ruling TDP,  she pointed out,  came up with a fake letter which was unfolded and is believed to have been in the attacker's pocket. When the difference in handwriting in the letter was pointed out, they fumbled for explanation with all kinds of half truth, she said and also referred to the fake flexi which surfaced soon after the attack.  She also said that the attacker, Srinivasa Rao, is being described as a YSRCP follower and a YS Jagan fan.  She wondered why he never attempted to meet YS Jagan earlier at the airport over the past few months and why, when he did, he lunged at the YSRCP chief with a knife.
YS Vijayamma also recalled how the late Dr YSR had visited Chandrababu Naidu after the Maoist attack on him at Alipiri in Tirupati, Dr YSR had then told Chandrababu that God saved him and also sat in protest against the Maoist attack in front of the Gandhi statue.
The YSRCP honorary president pointed out that Chandrababu Naidu as chief minister enjoyed Z plus category security. "Is this because he doesn't have faith In AP Police?" she questioned. Further, she said that the YSRCP did not express his doubts about the AP Police as a whole, but sought an independent inquiry into the incident only because chief minister, top TDP leadership and DGP appeared to be giving a clear direction to the course of inquiry.
