Vizianagram: Praja Sankalpa Yatra, the mass contact initiative undertaken by YSR Congress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy continued to proceed through Vizianagaram district . People lined the streets in eager anticipation of the mass leader who was accompanied by thousands of party leaders, workers and supporters. Many had been waiting all day, to catch a glimpse of or interact with YS Jagan. The Praja Sankalpa Yatra has evoked tremendous response in these parts, as it has elsewhere in the state.. With his visit there was a festive mood in the air. Slogans cheering YS rent the air.
YS Jagan interacted with men, women, the elderly and the disabled and lent a patient ear to people who poured out their woes to him.
A couple who participated in the march expressed anguish at their condition saying that they were forced to sell the house sanctioned during late YS Rajasekhara Reddy's government. Their application for a pension had not been accepted.
Satya Rao from Mettavalasa said that loan waiver to farmers was a big hoax and said that banks issued notices to farmers who had not paid their dues to pay them along with interest. Electricity Department contract and outsourcing employees submitted a memorandum requesting equal pay for equal work and job security. Several youth also complained to YS Jagan about the Bobbili growth center for which many of the local villagers gave up their land. They were sorely disappointed that there have been no employment opportunities.
