Tirupati: YSR Congress Party MLA RK Roja said that the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu government failed miserably in encouraging the sports fraternity in the State. Raja on Friday formerly launched rural cricket tournament organised by the MLA Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy in Chandragiri of Chittoor district.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that Chandrababu Naidu promised to organise 2019 Olympics in Amaravati, but so far not even a single rupee spent on building play grounds or established any academy in Amaravati or elsewhere in the State.
She also said that nobody will beat the latter in deceiving the people.
Does Naidu think that felicitating a couple of players or paying cash awards to them could promote the sports in the State, she asked. The legislator advised the Chief Minister not to deceive the sports persons as he deceived all other sections. The youth which comprises 50 percent country’s population is an asset to nation and the energies of the youth should be properly utilised to make the nation pride of their talents.
Earlier, Roja batted few balls as a mark of commencement of the tournament and interacted with the players.
