Nation Has Failed To Protect Its Daughters

Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his concern over the rising number of rape incidents in the country. The YSRCP chief said that we had failed to protect our daughters as a nation. Referring to the recent Kathua and Unnao incidents, YS Jagan said these were inhuman acts and the culprits should be given severe punishment.
"The heinous incidents in #Kathua and #Unnao are as much a testimony to the depravity of humanity as they are to the state of law and order in our country. We as a nation have failed our daughters. And AP sadly, has done no better.  Only in Oct'17,a woman was raped in broad daylight in Railway Colony Vizag. In Dec,a Dalit woman was publicly stripped & assaulted in Pendurthi. This time it cannot be business as usual. This time the punishment must be exemplary so no perpetrator can even dream of such a crime!," YS Jagan tweeted.
