Naidu’s fast has no meaning: YSRCP

Hyderabad, Oct 7, 2013: TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu’s indefinite fast at
Delhi has no clarity on his demand as he has one foot in each region; he seems
to be in a hurry and wants the Centre to expedite the division process if the
sequence of his movements is closely followed by, YSR Congress has said.

“His indefinite fast seems to be for mounting pressure on Centre to
speed up the division process as there was a 63-day delay between the CWC
announcement and the Cabinet note. However we firmly believe that the process
of division cannot take place before the 2014 general elections and the State
will remain united after the polls,” Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told
reporters here on Monday.

The delay of over two months for bringing up the cabinet note by the
Centre is the result of an unprecedented public ire in Seemandhra. Naidu
however wants the state to be divided before the elections.

“This is obvious from the fact that Naidu did not spell out with clarity
what his demand is and why he is going on an indefinite fast. All equations
point out towards Naidu favouring a quick division of the state, before the
elections.

Going by the developments in Delhi and the manner in which it is going
forward, the division process may not be completed before the general
elections. As long as the Seemandhra movement is going on, the Centre cannot
dare go ahead of bifurcation process.

The Group of Ministers (GoM) undertaking the exercise of hearing the
versions of various parties, preparing the draft Bill which has to go through
the Assembly and Parliament—all this procedure will take more time than
expected,” he said.

While leaders of one region of his party celebrate the announcement of
the separate state, leaders of other region speak in a different note and Naidu
after cutting short his Atma Gourava Yatra visits Delhi to give his impression
of the region contending that there is no resentment in Seemandhra as he
personally toured the region.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh speaking in terms of package and Naidu
too mentioning a special package after the announcement of division shows that
they are working in tandem, he said.

Digvijaya Singh alerting the State Government to protect the assets of Congress
leaders, PCC Chief Botsa Satyanaryana in particular, shows that Congress has
concern only of the welfare of its leaders leaving out the people.

“We are not in favour of attacks or violence but when students, women
and others are bearing the brunt of the agitation, Congress only expressing
concern over the damage to the assets of Congress leaders is serious,” he said.

Naidu sitting on fast without withdrawing the letter he has given to the
Pranab Mukherjee Committee exposes his double standards. We have been opposing
the decision of the Congress and he has been supporting it and people can
decide who is with whom. Who has a package deal with Congress is obvious and
Naidu was the first to speak of a package for a separate State, he said.

Some people are trying to give an impression as if we have discovered
Article 3 of the Constitution. It is there and is available to anyone who wants
to read it. In our letter to Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde we have clearly
mentioned about it the powers it gives to the Centre and asked it to take
decision which provides equal justice to all regions, he said.

When it could not divide the State like a father giving equal share to
his wards, we took the stand of a united state unlike N Chandrababu Naidu whose
stand lingers on the verge of uncertainty.

The institution of the Speaker is being misused by Congress high command
as it has been accepting or keeping at abeyance as per Delhi instructions.

Bandh: Terming the 72-hour bandh in Seemandhra region as
a total success, he said the sentiments of the people are shown in full flow to
the Centre.

He called upon the party cadre and votaries of a united state to make
the October 19 Samaikhandhra public meeting a grand
success.
