Kiran responsible for power woes: Sharmila

Guntur, March 2, 2013: Smt.
Y.S. Sharmila, who has been continuing her Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on
behalf of YSR Congress Party chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, came down
heavily on Congress Government saying that darkness has engulfed the villages
and hamlets with longer power cuts.
The Government’s
decision to impose longer power cuts across the state has led to closure of
industries and retrenchment of the services of lakhs of workers and employees,
she told a huge public meeting at Bellam Konda in Guntur district during the
course of her Padayatra on Friday.
Lambasting CM Kiran
Kumar Reddy for having not visualized the power crisis and taken necessary remedial
measures to improve the power situation in the state, Smt. Sharmila said that the
people have in no way benefited from the presence of 31 Congress MPs from AP in
Parliament.
“CM and the MPs are
regularly visiting Delhi but they have no time to discuss the people’s issues
with the Centre and Congress elders in Delhi,” she said.
Taking a dig at CM for
having expressed happiness over the inclusion of an official in Babli Project
committee, she said there is nothing to boast of about the committee. While the
Congress government has abdicated people’s welfare, TDP president Chandrababu
Naidu has been keeping silent instead of introducing no-confidence motion.
Responding to the
complaints of the displaced persons of Pulichintala Project, Smt. Sharmila
assured them that all their problems including payment of compensation would be
addressed when YSRCP takes over the reins of power.
