Dharmavaram: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday slammed the Andhra Pradesh Government and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for failure to address the grievances of handloom weavers of Dharmavaram.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting attended by handloom weavers and YSRCP supporters, the party chief said Rs 1 lakh loan will be given to each family by the YSRCP when it comes to power in 2019. He promised reduced interests rates and access to loans of Rs 1 lakh to weavers.
“Chandrababu promised a house and loom for every weaver family. Rs1,000 crore loans each year but since four years not even Rs 4 crore were given to the weaver community. He promised handloom park in every district. As on date there is no handloom park in Kadapa nor here in Anantapur,” YS Jagan said.

The latter explained the loss of cotton and groundnut crops due to unseasonal rainfall. He sought details of any relief provided by the state government for the loss of crop but was told that they was none.
Uravakonda MLA Y Visweswara Reddy, Dharmavaram Assembly constituency coordinator Kethireddy Venkatrami Reddy, YSRCP district leaders and party supporters were present on the occasion.
