Delay in Rajoli Project Deprives farmers of irrigation facility

Chapadu: Delay in the construction of a reservoir at Rajoli deprived farmers under KC canal of irrigation facility, Mydukuru Assembly constituency MLA S Raghurami Reddy said.
Participating in mandal parishad meeting conducted here, the YSR Congress leader and MLA said that farmer Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy laid foundation stone for the project with 2.9 TMC storage capacity in 2009. After YSR's demise, the project was left in the lurch.
Due to delay in the monsoon and government's indifference in addressing the farmers plights this year, the YSR Congress leader said that the stand crops withered in the Rayalaseema district. He also charged the TDP government with failed to provide sufficient power for farming purpose. Nearly, 6,000 applications seeking connection for motor pump sets were pending for years before the government.
The Swatch Bharat programme launched for maintaining cleanliness was also not implemented in true spirit. As a result, the spread of communicable diseases was rampant in Andhra Pradesh, he said demanded the government to organise health camps and provide necessary medical treatment to the patients suffering from seasonal diseases.
