Chandrababu Behind Visakhapatnam Land Scam

Srikakulam: The Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) report on the Visakha land scam appears to be faulty, said YSRCP leader Dharmana Prasada Rao. Raising objection to his name being mentioned in the report, he said that the Revenue minister would not be held responsible for any of the allegations being raised. Speaking to media here today, he said that the allegations were aimed at tarnishing his image.
"The TDP leaders are trying to deceive the public with the SIT report. Why is there no mention of the tampering in the records. Was the investigation done wit honesty? Why is it that the SIT does not have a single revenue official?" he demanded to know. Associates of Chandrababu involved in the scam, he observed.
Stating that the Amaravati land pooling was violating the rules, he said that Chandrababu refuted Supreme Court's orders by tweaking the CRDA rules. Adding that this was not the way experienced administrators would function, he demanded to know the bribes collected in the land pooling process. How will Chandrababu ensure justice is done in this case? he asked.
"The land scam took place during late Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao's regime in 1994, when Chandrababu served as a revenue minister. The GO, which affected owners of assigned lands, freedom fighters and ex-service men, was passed with a hidden agenda," he said.
