Centre insulting Telugu people: YSRCP

Hyderabad, Nov 7,
2013: YSR Congress party on Thursday charged the Centre with insulting the
Telugu people by conducting the third GoM meeting on a day coinciding with the
100th day of the Seemandhra agitation aimed at keeping the state
unified.

YSRCLP deputy leader
Sobha Nagi Reddy told reporters here that the people of Seemandhra, including children,
women, students, farmers, employees and the old have been leading the agitation
for the last 100 days.” But the Centre chose to ignore the agitation which was
similar to freedom struggle,” she said.

Objecting to the
Centre’s post-haste GoM meetings for completing the bifurcation in the most
arbitrary manner, she said party Chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will soon try
to mobilize the support of the national political parties for keeping the state
united.

Charging CM Kiran
Kumar Reddy and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu with extending cooperation to the
Congress high command in implementing Sonia Gandhi’s plan on bifurcation, Sobha
Nagi Reddy said the bifurcation decision was only aimed at getting political
mileage.

“Chandrababu Naidu
gave the letter in support of bifurcation unable to face the political supremacy
of YSRCP in the state,” she said, adding Congress is going ahead with the
division blindly unmindful of the new problems it would pose.

Sobha faulted the
proposals being submitted by the Seemandhra Union Ministers saying they are
only intended at gaining political advantage for themselves. “The proposals and
reports are not meant for people’s benefit,” she remarked.

Heckling at the proposals of MIM and
Congress leaders JC Diwakar Reddy and TG Venkatesh for Rayala Telangana, she
said they have come out with the idea for their political survival and
selfishness. “What right JC and TG Venkatesh have got to demand Rayala
Telangana?” she asked.

Dharmavaram MLA Ketireddy Venkatrami
Reddy, who also addressed the press meet, said that JC and TGV have raised the
Royal Telangana bogey only to bring about a divide between the people of Rayala
Seema and coastal Andhra and to create confusion among people. “The campaign is
at the behest of both Congress and TDP.”
