Ambati slams Cong double standards

Guntur,
September10: YSR Congress Party said no political leader who closely
followed YSR during his 1600-km Padayatra in 2003 was aware of the existence of
any dairy which was suddenly released by the Congress leaders in Delhi with
much fanfare.
Addressing
a media meet here, party spokesman Ambati Rambabu said he and some other
leaders closely followed the YSR Yatra but neither he nor anyone else came to
know that YSR was writing a diary.
“We
didn’t hear of it when YSR was opposition leader or even after he became CM,”
said Rambabu sarcastically, adding the diary has suddenly sprung up.
Rambabu
said it was ironical that the same senior congress leaders who were mum when
YSR’s name was mentioned in the charge sheet attended the diary releasing
function and heaped praises on him.
“All this shows that Congress wants to own YSR
and his policies and at the same time distance itself from the 26 GOs and show
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in bad light. This is simply not possible and people gave
their verdict earlier and such theatrics of diaries and senior leaders trying
to own YSR up will not cut any ice,” he said, adding it only exposes the raw
opportunism of Congress.
