YSRCP Worker Killed In TDP Attack

Srikakulam: A YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) worker was killed and four others were injured after a clash broke out between two groups over a petty issue in Kuntibadra village in Kotturu Mandal of Srikakulam district.
Kotturu SI V Ramakrishna said that the deceased identified as Jangam died and four other persons were injured, when another person named Kovvada Raju and Erraiah, both TDP sympathisers attacked them with sticks and spears over old enmities. It is reported that Raju had attacked Jangam with an iron spear and pierced his stomach.
Jangam was shifted to Palakonda area hospital where he died while undergoing treatment, while the injured were taken to Kotturu community hospital. Police have imposed Section 144 in the area and police forces have been deployed to quell any further clashes.
YSRCP senior leader Vijaysai Reddy called on the DGP and appealed to investigate into the murder of YSRCP worker and take stern legal action against the accused.
