New Delhi: YSRCP general secretary V Vijayasai Reddy reiterated that his party would make Special Status to Andhra Pradesh as a matter of priority in their agenda for monsoon session of parliament.
Speaking to press persons along with MP Mithun Reddy here on Sunday after participating in all-party meeting convened by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahalad Joshi, he informed that YSRCP had raised the Special Status and promises made by the Centre during bifurcation in the said meeting. He also said that they had raised the issue of BC empowerment and requested participants to support BC reservations by working towards changing of current legal provisions.
On the issue of whether or not YSRCP would accept the proposal of Deputy Speaker to one of its MP in Lok Sabha, he clarified that the party had not received any such proposal.
Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Joshi requested presidents of all political parties in the country to attend a meeting on June 19 to discuss various issues pertaining to running the Houses of Parliament, 75th Independence Day celebrations, Mahatma Gandhi 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations and others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in this meeting.
