Tadepalli, Feb 22: YSRCP spokesperson Putta Shiva Shankar Reddy criticized the current TDP-led administration for rendering the Disha app ineffective. He condemned the government's negligence towards rising crimes against women and accused it of turning a blind eye to such incidents.
Shiva Shankar highlighted the significant steps taken by the YSRCP government under former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, including the launch of the Disha app, which has been downloaded by over 1.5 crore users, offering immediate assistance to women in distress.
He questioned the need for introducing a new Suraksha app when Disha, along with dedicated police stations and vehicles, already exists. He urged the government to utilize these resources effectively instead of resorting to duplicative efforts.
The spokesperson also pointed out the contradiction of current Home Minister Anita, who had protested the launch of Disha app but is now promoting Suraksha. He further said that 18 TDP MLAs and 2 Janasena MLAs face charges related to crimes against women, questioning how safety can be ensured under such leadership.
