YSRCP slams Naidu’s factionalism and broken promises

Palnadu, June 28: Former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy has launched a scathing critique of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s administration fostering factionalism, stifling dissent, and betraying public trust through unfulfilled promises. In a strongly worded statement, Mahesh asserted that Naidu’s governance mirrors the oppressive days of the Emergency, marked by vindictive actions against YSRCP leaders and workers. “The state is witnessing a surge in factionalism, with false cases being filed against our leaders and supporters to suppress opposition,” Mahesh declared, highlighting the government’s misuse of power to target political rivals.

Mahesh pointed to specific incidents to underscore his claims, including the brutal assault on youths by police in Tenali, which YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited to console the victims. “Is it a crime for YS Jagan to stand with the oppressed?” he questioned. He also referenced a disturbing incident in Kuppam, where a woman was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten, highlighting Naidu’s inaction.

Mahesh further stated that inadequate security arrangements during YS Jagan’s Sattenapalli tour led to the tragic deaths of two individuals, attributing the lapse directly to the government’s negligence.

The YSRCP leader criticized Naidu for a long-standing vendetta against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, dating back to the formation of YSRCP in 2010. “Naidu has resorted to unethical alliances to crush Jagan, but he has consistently failed,” Mahesh stated, emphasizing the resilience of YSRCP’s leadership.

He also criticized Naidu for misleading voters with unfulfilled election promises, particularly the pledge to provide Rs. 1,500 monthly to women, which swayed many to vote for him. “The Annadata Sukhibhava scheme remains unimplemented, and Arogyasri has been reduced to a dysfunctional ‘Anarogyasri,’ with the government failing to clear hospital bills,” Mahesh charged, underscoring the impact on ordinary citizens.

Addressing local concerns, Mahesh highlighted the stalled progress of the Palnadu medical college. “The government’s inaction on completing the medical college prompted us to protest through a selfie video campaign.” He called on the Naidu administration to honor its commitments to the people, asserting that YSRCP remains undeterred by what he described as “baseless cases” filed against its members.

The former MLA concluded with a direct appeal to the government: “Fulfill the promises you made to the people of Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP will hold you accountable and continue its struggle on behalf of the common citizen.”
