YSRCP slams Chandrababu for false claims

Nellore, Jan 3: YSRCP has slammed Chandrababu for maintaining secrecy about his whereabouts while his propaganda machinery has been doling out fudged and deceptive data on development.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy said Chandrababu and his son were missing and their whereabouts were not known, and that the people of the state had a right to know why such secrecy was being maintained.
However, social media posts are being circulated about development and investments coming into the state, which have no authenticity. The tweets are only an eyewash to cover up the disappearing act, he said, adding that when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited London to see his daughter, there was a lot of negative publicity.
He said the publicity on investments had reached the peak of distortion, as there was no proper account of how much investment had actually materialised, with the real figure being only around five percent.
During 2014–19, Chandrababu claimed that MoUs were signed with 1,761 companies for investments worth Rs 18.77 lakh crore, but only about 10 percent of these investments materialised.
During YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, 394 MoUs were signed for investments worth Rs 13.15 lakh crore, and nearly 20 percent of the investments were realised in the first year itself. Despite COVID, the government achieved an implementation rate of 91.6 percent, he said.
He alleged that Chandrababu had cheated Amaravati farmers by taking steps to benefit his own people, with assigned lands being usurped by paying a pittance or by pushing farmers into prolonged litigation.
It was only YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who did justice to farmers, he said.
