YSRCP to picket RDOs on Sept 9

Nellore, Spet 3: YSRCP will hold protest rallies in front of Revenue Division Offices across the state to highlight the failure of Chandrababu Naidu government in providing urea to the farmers and the government’s anti-farmer policies.
Speaking to media here on Wednesday, former minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy said, artificial scarcity of urea has been created by diverting 50 percent of the allotted urea to private parties for kickbacks and there is a scam of about Rs 200 to Rs 300 crore for which the Chandrababu Naidu has to give an explanation. 
Agriculture minister Atacham Naidu has insulted farmers with his remarks asking what is wrong in farmers standing in a queue which shows that the government is anti-farmer. 
Whenever YSRCP raises an issue of farmer, there will be a knee-jerk reaction from the government and the Chief Minister gives oral instructions to check the black marketing of urea and the Agriculture minster tries to give a reason on acquiring urea. 
Despite sharing power with NDA government not getting the required quantity of urea is a shameful act and trying to justify it is still worse, he said adding that diverting 50 per cent of the urea to private players is nothing but a scam which runs into over Rs 300 crore with the 4 to 5 lakh ton urea being diverted. 
The situation is so dire that famers are unable to get urea even for double the cost despite standing in queues due to the artificial scarcity. Urea which cost Rs 270 is being sold at Rs 400 and even at Rs 600 per bag. The government has to answer as to why urea was allotted to private players for non-agriculture needs and the Agriculture Minister has spilled the beans. 
Farmers are not getting MSP for any crop and are facing hardships while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy governance took care of every need of farmers and the RBKs had served as a one-stop solution to farmers. Markfed was properly utilized but the coalition has proved once again that it has no concern for agriculture.
