*YSRCP pays tribute to Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu*

Tadepalli, August 23: YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid rich tributes to Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu on his birth anniversary, recalling his fearless struggle for India’s freedom and his enduring contribution to the progress of Andhra.
Taking to X platform, YS Jagan said Prakasam Pantulu fought for Independence without fearing even for his life and became a symbol of courage and self-respect for Telugu people. As the first Chief Minister of Andhra State, he laid strong foundations for public welfare and development, and his life would continue to inspire generations.
The YSRCP also organised the 154th birth anniversary celebrations of Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu at the party’s Central Office in Tadepalli. Former MLA Malladi Vishnu garlanded Prakasam Pantulu’s portrait, lit the ceremonial lamp and offered floral tributes.
Recalling Prakasam Pantulu’s role in the freedom movement, Malladi Vishnu said he followed Mahatma Gandhi’s path, stood fearlessly against the British during the Simon Commission protests and became a symbol of Telugu pride. He also remembered his public service as Rajahmundry Municipal Chairman and Revenue Minister in the Madras Presidency, his contribution to farmers, students and women, his role in the Quit India Movement and his efforts to spread the spirit of freedom through the Swarajya newspaper.
Malladi Vishnu said YSRCP, under the leadership of YS Jagan, would continue to stand with the people and fight against the prevailing police raj and government high-handedness, drawing inspiration from Andhra Kesari’s courage and commitment to public causes.
YSRCP leaders and cadres participated in the programme and raised slogans paying homage to Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu.
