Kadapa, May 31: YSRCP State General Secretary S. Satish Kumar Reddy, strongly denounces the Telugu Desam Party’s provocative act of tying party flags to the statues of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. This deliberate disrespect not only insults Dr. YSR’s legacy but also wounds the sentiments of the people who hold him in high esteem.
When Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy lodged a formal complaint with the police, urging action against this affront, the authorities’ inaction revealed a clear bias toward the TDP.
Frustrated by this neglect, local residents took the initiative to remove the flags, safeguarding the dignity of their beloved leader.
The police response, however, was deplorable. Instead of addressing the issue, they filed baseless cases against innocent YSRCP leaders, including Municipal Chairman Vara Prasad, and resorted to unwarranted violence.
YSRCP questions whether these officers are serving the public or acting as enforcers for the TDP. Such conduct brands them as rogue elements, undermining the rule of law. The party demands immediate disciplinary action against these errant officials.
TDP’s vendetta-driven politics, coupled with police complicity, threatens to destabilize the state’s harmony.
Recent incidents of youths being brutally beaten on public roads further expose this oppressive regime, which the YSRCP vows will not go unchallenged.
TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu’s call to deny welfare schemes to YSRCP supporters is a divisive tactic that betrays the principles of governance. The YSRCP challenges the TDP to account for its failures, canceled medical seats, privatized medical colleges burdening citizens, and stalled irrigation projects like GNSS and HNSS. The TDP’s fixation on targeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, even during their Mahanadu events, underscores their inability to prioritize public welfare. Their threats that YSRCP will “face consequences” are hollow; it is TDP workers who risk public backlash if this oppression continues. Should the government change, TDP leaders must face accountability for their actions and not flee the state, as some reportedly plan.
