Narasaraopet, June 6: In a distressing incident in Pedda Nemalipuri, Rajupalem Mandal, Palnadu District, a businessman and YSRCP activist, Gutha Lakshminarayana, attempted suicide due to harassment by police and TDP leaders. Unable to bear the torment, Lakshminarayana is currently in the ICU at a hospital in Piduguralla.
Former Gurazala MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy responded to the incident, condemning the authorities' actions. He stated that Lakshminarayana, a YSRCP supporter from the Kamma community, was summoned to the Sattenapalli DSP office, where he was subjected to severe mistreatment and verbal abuse by the police.
Mahesh demanded an immediate end to the "Red Book" governance and urged adherence to the Constitution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, warning that failure to do so could lead to unrest in Andhra Pradesh. He questioned whether members of the Kamma community are barred from supporting YSRCP or being admirers of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He called for swift action against the officials responsible for this incident and emphasized that such events must not recur. Mahesh criticized the ongoing "misgovernance" and assured that the YSRCP stands firmly with Lakshminarayana’s family. The party prays for his recovery and hopes for his survival by the grace of God.
