Srikakulam, June 7: Former Minister Dr. Seediri Appalaraju launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, betraying every section of society during his first year in office. Speaking at the YSRCP Camp Office in Srikakulam, he said, “Chandrababu is a master of deception. His governance is a facade, propped up by biased media like 'Eenadu' to distract from his monumental failures.”
He slammed the TDP government for looting the state while failing to implement a single major promise. “From 1999 to 2024, Chandrababu has never fulfilled his manifesto commitments. This year is no different,” he said.
Dr. Appalaraju exposed the pension scam, highlighting that instead of adding 20 lakh new beneficiaries as promised, the government removed 4 lakh pensioners and misrepresented it as a hike. “This is not reform, it’s fraud,” he said. He also pointed to efforts to eliminate medical and disability pensions and the indignity of making beneficiaries collect pensions from TDP leaders’ homes.
He warned of the law and order collapse under TDP rule, citing increasing violence, attacks on women, and political vendettas. “The police are rendered spineless. Dissent is silenced through diversion tactics,” he said. Dr. Appalaraju also accused the regime of extorting industries, saying not one new industry was established while industrialists were harassed for bribes.
He questioned the sincerity of promises like free LPG cylinders, Rs. 1,500 monthly assistance to women, free bus travel, and unemployment allowances. “Nothing has been delivered. Flagship schemes like Amma Vodi and Rythu Bharosa are missing in action,” he said.
In contrast, he praised the YSRCP’s governance under CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. “In the first year alone, welfare schemes worth Rs. 36,361 crore benefited over 3.54 crore people,” he said, listing Amma Vodi, Vidya Deevena, Rythu Bharosa, and others. He also highlighted AP's top ranking in 'Ease of Doing Business' for three consecutive years and Rs. 46,000 crore in investments in 2023–24.
While Chandrababu blames YSRCP for debts, he has already borrowed Rs. 1.5 lakh crore in a single year, AP’s highest ever. “State GST revenues have fallen by 24% under TDP, from Rs. 3,499 crore to Rs. 2,652 crore,” he noted. “This government is not about governance, it’s about gaslighting,” Dr. Appalaraju concluded. “From pensions to jobs to women’s welfare, they’ve betrayed every promise. Let the people decide who served and who deceived.”
