Tadepalli, June 10: YSRCP MLC and Women’s Wing President Varudu Kalyani condemned the Chandrababu Naidu-led government for its failure to ensure women’s safety, accusing it of enabling a surge in rapes and murders due to negligence and complicity.
Speaking at statewide protests led by YSRCP women activists, Kalyani declared, “Under TDP’s rule, women live in fear. The government’s inaction has turned protectors into predators.”
Kalyani highlighted the brutal murder of Tanmayi, an intermediate student in Anantapur, attributing it to police and government negligence.
“The SP admitted the Circle Inspector’s failure led to this tragedy, yet a mere suspension is their response. This is nothing short of a state-sponsored murder,” she charged, demanding the resignations of Chief Minister Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Home Minister Anita for shirking moral responsibility.
She also pointed to the gang rape of a 14-year-old minor in Raptadu by 14 TDP workers, noting the government’s delay in arrests as evidence of shielding culprits.
Blaming the rise in atrocities on unchecked liquor, ganja, and drug proliferation under TDP’s governance, Kalyani accused the party of enabling “door-delivery” of intoxicants, fueling crimes against women.
“TDP leaders are directly responsible for these heinous acts,” she asserted, urging immediate action to curb substance abuse and ensure justice.
Kalyani vowed that YSRCP will intensify its fight for women’s safety, stating, “We will not rest until justice is served and women are protected.”
