*Include tenant farmers under Annadata Sukhibhava: Kurasala Kannababu*

Kakinada, June 19: Former Minister Kurasala Kannababu demanded that the coalition government immediately extend the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme to tenant farmers and ensure there is no shortage of urea for cultivators. Addressing the media in Kakinada, he stated that the government has abandoned farmers and responds to public issues only after Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy raises them. He said the government increased aqua feed prices by Rs.14 in two phases and later reduced only Rs.4, claiming to have provided relief while burdening aqua farmers.
Kannababu said the coalition government renamed YSR Rythu Bharosa as Annadata Sukhibhava but failed to deliver investment support in the first year and excluded nearly seven lakh farmers in the second year. Tenant farmers have been left out of the scheme altogether, while cyclone compensation remains unpaid, zero-interest loans have disappeared, free crop insurance has been discontinued, and even a bag of urea is difficult for farmers to obtain. He demanded that Annadata Sukhibhava be implemented for tenant farmers without exception and that the app-based fertiliser distribution system be simplified.
The former minister also attacked the government’s handling of law and order, stating that the Sai Krishna lockup death has shaken the entire nation and exposed the collapse of policing and human rights protection in the state. He questioned why authorities failed to act despite repeated pleas from the victim’s family and asked why notices were issued to former minister Gudivada Amarnath while no action was taken against senior police officials. He asserted that whenever Y.S. Jagan intervenes on behalf of aqua, mango, tobacco or other farmers, the government is forced to respond, and urged the government to focus on people’s welfare instead of diversionary politics and publicity.
