YSRCP celebrates Dhanvantari Jayanti

Tadepalli, 18 October: Bhagavan Dhanvantari Jayanti was celebrated with devotion and dignity at the YSR Congress Party Central Office in Tadepalli under the leadership of party central office in-charge and MLC Lella Appi Reddy. Party leaders paid floral tributes to Lord Dhanvantari, the divine father of Ayurveda, and offered traditional prayers. As part of the programme, RMP and PMP doctors who provide valuable medical services in rural areas were felicitated.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC Appi Reddy said that the YSRCP is the only party that recognised and uplifted the Nayee Brahmin community. He recalled that before the advent of modern hospitals, the Nayee Brahmin community contributed greatly to public health with their traditional medicinal knowledge. He said late Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy had recognised their services and extended training and certificates to support their profession. Continuing that legacy, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as Chief Minister introduced several welfare schemes for traditional communities including Nayee Brahmins. These include ₹10,000 annual financial assistance to 50,000 salon workers, 150 units of free electricity for salons every month, and representation for Nayee Brahmins in temple trust boards. Appi Reddy said YS Jagan had also planned to officially declare Dhanvantari Jayanti as a government celebration, but elections interrupted the process. He added that once YS Jagan returns as Chief Minister, this will be implemented without fail. He strongly criticised former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting Nayee Brahmins and recalled how Naidu insulted them in the past by threatening them instead of addressing their grievances.

Former TTD Board member Yanadayya said that Bhagavan Dhanvantari blessed humanity with health and Ayurveda during the churning of the cosmic ocean. He said Nayee Brahmins worship Lord Dhanvantari as their clan deity and have contributed to society through traditional healing and music. He said their service is divine and deserves honour and recognition.
RMP-PMP Doctors Service Association members Anand and Secretary Venkateswarlu, along with doctors Srihari, Subrahmanyam, Rajkumar, Venkata Subbayya, Madhav Rao, Murali and others were felicitated during the programme. Community leaders including Kanaka Rao, Srinivasulu, Venkateswarlu, Prakash, Ramalakshmamma, Nandini, AGL Narayana, Podili Satyam, YSRCP Grievance Cell President Ankamreddy Naga Narayana Murthy, Pillutla Mohan Rao and several others participated in the programme.
