YS Jagan assures protection of Waqf properties

Tadepalli, Jan 28: Representatives of the Muslim United Forum met former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the YSRCP central office and submitted a memorandum stating that about 71.57 acres of Waqf land belonging to Anjuman Islamia at Chinakakani in Mangalagiri constituency is being taken up for land acquisition by the Chandrababu Naidu government for an IT park project.
They urged YS Jagan to intervene and exert pressure on the government to withdraw the move and protect the Waqf property.
Responding positively, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assured them that YSRCP is firmly committed to safeguarding Waqf properties across the state and reiterated that the party stands strongly with Muslims and minority communities. He enquired in detail about their concerns and assured all possible support.
Guntur East YSRCP in-charge Sheikh Noori Fathima, Muslim United Forum State President Syed Salahuddin, General Secretary Sardar Khan, Treasurer Abdul Kalam, and other representatives were present.
