March 7: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy extended his greetings to women across the two Telugu states and the world on the occasion of International Women’s Day. In his message, he said that true progress is achieved only when women advance socially, economically, and politically. He noted that when women are happy and empowered, families flourish, which in turn strengthens villages, states, and the nation. Recalling the initiatives undertaken during his tenure, YS Jagan stated that his government implemented several programmes aimed at women’s welfare, development, and empowerment, extending support through more than 32 schemes. Emphasising that women constitute not just half of humanity but play an even greater role in driving development, he said that the upliftment of women remains a crucial measure of any society’s progress.
