Tribal students’ Deaths are govt murders

Tadepalli, October 6: YSRCP MLA Tadiparthi Chandrasekhar strongly condemned the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government, holding Education Minister Nara Lokesh directly responsible for the deaths of tribal students in Manyam district. “These are not natural deaths – they are murders caused by government negligence,” he said, demanding Rs. 25 lakh compensation for each bereaved family.
He revealed that since July 2024, 11 tribal students have died, while in just one hostel 145 children fell ill, and in another 135 students were hospitalized with 25 confirmed jaundice cases. “This government cannot even provide safe drinking water. Yet it wastes crores on ‘Super Six’ celebrations and chartered flights,” he charged.
Chandrasekhar said Lokesh has no qualification other than being the CM’s son. “Under his watch, the education system has collapsed. In one year, 5.5 lakh students abandoned government schools due to lack of facilities. Even the Home Minister found a cockroach in her meal – that is the state of affairs,” he remarked.
Contrasting this with YS Jagan’s tenure, he reminded that schools were transformed through Nadu-Nedu, English medium, RO plants, digital classrooms, and Amma Vodi. “But now the coalition is dismantling public education, handing medical colleges to private operators, while spurious liquor rackets flourish,” he warned.
“Where has the Rs. 2.11 lakh crore debt gone? Into whose pockets?” Chandrasekhar asked, concluding that the deaths of innocent tribal children will remain Lokesh’s greatest sin.
