New Delhi: YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy launched a diatribe against the Centre for failing to grant Special Status to Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Reddy said that AP had lost out on several counts in the last five years reeling under the huge financial burden engendered by the bifurcation. In the last five years, the unemployment in AP had gone up significantly, he added.
Stating that AP had a revenue deficit of Rs 60,000 crore, he said the lack of infrastructure and tax incentives dissauded companies from setting up their firms in AP. He specifically asked as to what had happened to Kadapa Steel Plant, Duggarajapatnam port, IT corridors and several other promises made as part of AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
He further drew the attention of the Centre highlighting that AP would lose a great deal if 15th Finance Commission recommendations were taken into account in disbursing funds to the State.
