Lokesh betraying students with lies

Tadepalli, September 23:YSRCP Venkatagiri coordinator Nedurumalli Ram Kumar Reddy strongly condemned Minister Nara Lokesh for making false claims in the Legislative Council regarding the Fee Reimbursement scheme.

Speaking at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, he said the coalition government has failed to clear seven consecutive quarters of dues, pushing students and colleges into crisis. “Lokesh’s claim that YSRCP left Rs 4,000 crore dues is a blatant lie. In reality, it was Chandrababu Naidu who left Rs 2,400 crore arrears in 2019, which were fully cleared by CM Y.S. Jagan by March 2020. Jagan’s government even released Rs 4,500 crore towards Fee Reimbursement,” he clarified.

Ram Kumar Reddy said Fee Reimbursement is a continuous process and no government can escape responsibility. He demanded the coalition government immediately clear the arrears. “If Lokesh claims otherwise, let him place the figures before the public,” he challenged.

He reminded that when YSRCP tried to clear dues in early 2024, TDP itself stalled payments through court cases, followed by the election code. Since the coalition came to power, it has failed to release payments for seven quarters over 15 months, paying only once while colleges struggle to pay salaries and students face harassment.

He warned that blaming YSRCP is only a ploy to dismantle the scheme altogether. “If the arrears are not cleared immediately, students will be forced onto the streets to protest,” he cautioned, holding the coalition squarely responsible for betraying lakhs of students and their families.
