Liquor case, a fabricated conspiracy to divert public anger

Tadepalli, September 8: YSRCP SC Cell State President and former MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu strongly condemned the coalition government led by N. Chandrababu Naidu for resorting to fabricated liquor cases to divert attention from its governance failures. Addressing media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, he asserted that despite false arrests and intimidation, YSRCP’s struggle under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership will not stop.
He said the so-called liquor scam is a manufactured conspiracy by Chandrababu and Lokesh, who are misusing SIT as a political weapon. Former IAS officer Dhananjay Reddy, OSD Krishnamohan Reddy, and others were jailed without evidence. Even the courts questioned the SIT’s faulty charge sheets, pointing out 21 major lapses and lack of technical proof. Despite 90 days of custody, SIT failed to establish any link to the accused, exposing the political vendetta behind the case.
Recalling the TDP regime (2014–19), Sudhakar Babu said liquor flowed unchecked through belt shops, pan shops, and kirana stores, draining poor families and filling TDP coffers. In contrast, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy implemented a transparent liquor policy — abolishing belt shops, restricting sales to government-run outlets, and making liquor unaffordable to curb consumption. Crucially, not a single new distillery was permitted during YSRCP’s tenure.
Chandrababu reopening belt shops after 2024, once again flooding the state with cheap liquor. Unable to face public scrutiny, the government launched fabricated liquor cases and resorted to illegal arrests, even delaying bail to humiliate opponents.
He warned that no diversionary tactics can erase Chandrababu’s failures. “Truth will prevail. Dharma will stand. No matter how many false cases are filed, YSRCP’s fight for the people will continue,” he declared.
