Let the JC family face a public debate on 30 years of rule
16 Jan 2026 10:32 PM

Anantapur, Jan 16: Former Tadipatri MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy challenged the JC family to an open public debate anywhere in Rayalaseema on their 30 years of rule in Tadipatri versus his five-year tenure, saying development or politics can be the basis of the discussion. Addressing the media in Anantapur, he said the JC family has controlled Tadipatri for three decades and that instead of targeting his family personally in the name of “manliness,” they should confront him politically or on governance and development. He warned that he would not tolerate personal attacks on his family and appealed that innocent people should not be made scapegoats for political rivalries.
Kethireddy Pedda Reddy stated that in Tadipatri division, police are functioning not on the directions of the Superintendent of Police but on the instructions of JC Prabhakar Reddy. He criticised the police for foisting matka cases on innocents while letting actual offenders go free, and said political pressure has converted law enforcement into a private instrument. He warned that those misusing police power should reflect on their actions, stating that he is ready for a direct face-to-face political contest but not personal intimidation. He further said that despite submitting a formal complaint with evidence to the District Collector about illegal activities related to Erravanka and a Rs. 1.20 crore scam involving 15th Finance Commission funds in Tadipatri Rural mandal, no inquiry has been initiated even after 20 days, claiming the Municipal Chairman is blocking action. He questioned how ordinary citizens can expect justice when even complaints by a former MLA are ignored, and demanded that the District Collector immediately order a survey, investigation, and corrective action to restore accountability.
