Kalyandurg has liquor but no drinking water: Talari Rangaiah

Tadepalli, July 17: Former MP Talari Rangaiah castigated the coalition government for failing to provide drinking water while ensuring the easy availability of liquor in the Kalyandurgam constituency.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, he alleged that the local MLA is operating a liquor syndicate, extorting money, and running a full-fledged liquor mafia in the region. Over 3,000 belt shops are functioning in Kalyandurgam, even as many villages still lack access to safe drinking water.

He further said that liquor shops are being auctioned at exorbitant prices, and the Excise Department has become completely ineffective. The liquor mafia, he claimed, is operating openly and without fear of consequences.
