Jagan condemns attack on dalit student at Tirupati

Tadepalli, May 18: Condemning the attack on James, a dalit Engineering college student, at Tirupati, YSRCP President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said there is no safety for dalits in the state as the law and order situation has been deteriorating.
In a social media post on X, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the incidents shows the growing attacks on dalits and failing law and order situation in the State, which is not providing to protection to weaker sections and those who raise their voice against injustice.
Such incidents are taking place as the police machinery is biased towards the ruling party and such incidents are happening at some place or the other in the State.
It has become a practice when a victim approaches police station to report, a case is being registered on the complainant.
In the Tirupati incident, it is not just the failure of police department failure to register a case but it also the political interference which stalled the police to register a case.
I demand that a case is registered and action be taken against those who attacked the dait youth, he said.
