Velagapudi, Feb 17: YSRCP Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botcha Satyanarayana alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was involved in another scam linked to Indapur Dairy. Speaking at the Assembly media point along with YSRCP MLCs, he claimed that Chandrababu conspired to benefit his family-owned Heritage Foods by securing TTD ghee contracts through Indapur Dairy. He stated that false allegations about adulterated ghee in Tirumala laddus were made only to target the previous YSRCP government and create political gain.
He said Indapur Dairy and Heritage were not separate entities and that Heritage had earlier listed Indapur as a manufacturing unit on its website, later changing it to a co-manufacturing unit after the issue came to light. He alleged that between 2014 and 2019, TTD ghee contracts worth hundreds of crores were awarded to Indapur Dairy and that even after failed lab tests in 2016, the firm was allowed to continue. He added that the company did not participate in tenders during the YSRCP term but reappeared after the coalition came to power.
MLC P. Ramasubba Reddy said the government had failed to open procurement centers for Bengal gram, forcing farmers to sell at low prices and suffer losses. MLC Kalpalatha Reddy accused the government of promoting religious politics despite the CBI SIT charge sheet clarifying that no animal fat was found in laddu ghee. MLC Varudu Kalyani questioned whether Chandrababu was ready for a probe into Indapur’s links with Heritage. MLC Ramesh Yadav alleged that the government gave false job figures and failed to fulfill its “Super Six” promises.
