God, People Delivered Chandrababu His Due: YS Jagan
25 May 2019 6:00 PM

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh chief minister-designate YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that god and people of the State had witnessed the misdeeds of outgoing chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and paid him in the same coin.
He likened the verdict delivered by people of Andhra Pradesh in favour of Chandrababu Naidu and his party, TDP, and said: “He (Chandrababu) engineered defections by threatening our MLAs in the past. He thus took away our 23 MLAs. Now all he is left with is 23 MLAs as seen in the results announced on ‘May 23’. God and people are witness to this.”
Similarly about the Lok Sabha seats won by TDP, he said: “He (Chandrababu) had taken away our three MPs in the past. The TDP now has only three MPs out of 25 Lok Sabha.” He made these comments amidst thunderous applause of party workers and leaders whom he addressed on Saturday after being unanimously elected as YSR Congress Legislative Party chief.
He emphasised that his government would systematically cleanse the State which was left rotten by TDP government in the last five years. He sought the support of YSRCP leaders and workers to ensure that the “cleansing” of the system was carried out smoothly.
The YSR Congress chief said the people of Andhra Pradesh had shouldered them with a huge victory and it was the responsibility of the new government that it lives up to their expectations. “The victory of 2019 is behind us now. We should target 2024 to register much bigger victory with our work and governance,” he added.
In line with his speech soon after the victory of his party on May 23, he exhorted party leaders to work with the commitment to provide good governance and let the country stand up to notice their good work.
