Democracy mocked, courts ignored, Naidu Govt faces backlash

Tadepalli, Sep 28: YSRCP Legal Cell President Manohar Reddy slammed the coalition government for reducing democracy to a mockery under the so-called “Red Book Constitution.” He said Naidu’s regime has turned Andhra Pradesh into a police raj, trampling constitutional freedoms through illegal arrests of opposition leaders, social media activists, journalists, and even ordinary citizens.
Despite repeated High Court censures, the government and police continue to defy judicial orders. Fabricated cases, multiple arrests, and habeas corpus violations have been imposed on leaders including Varra Ravindra Reddy, Bosa Ramana, Prem Kumar, and Sridhar Reddy. Municipal Chairman Turaka Kishore was targeted with nearly a dozen false cases, while actor Posani Krishna Murali was charged under laws meant for traitors. Leaders like Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy and Savindra Reddy were subjected to midnight raids and illegal detentions. Even false ganja cases forced the High Court to order CBI probes. The assault and detention of High Court driver Lakshminarayana while carrying court files exposed the government’s lawlessness.
He condemned TDP MLA Balakrishna’s vulgar language in the Assembly and the silence of CM Chandrababu Naidu and the Speaker, which normalized indecency in the House.
Press freedom too has been throttled with midnight raids on Sakshi offices, fabricated cases against journalists, and harassment of Editor Dhananjay Reddy. Meanwhile, the ITDP fake news factory runs unchecked, spreading vulgar propaganda against YSRCP leaders and families.
Manohar Reddy said yellow media hypocrisy is clear: YSRCP workers are branded “goons,” Naidu’s loans glorified, while Jagan’s development efforts are vilified. He asserted that no matter how many false cases are foisted, the people’s voice cannot be silenced, and the coalition will face certain punishment in the people’s court.
