Coalition govt punishing Devotees for exposing Lapse in Simhachalam Prasadam

Visakhapatnam, Dec 31: YSR Congress Party Visakhapatnam district president K.K. Raju strongly condemned the registration of non-bailable cases against devotees who questioned the shocking incident of a snail being found in the pulihora prasadam at the Simhachalam Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. Speaking to the media at the YSRCP city office in Visakhapatnam, he said it was outrageous that instead of fixing responsibility for such a serious lapse in temple administration, the government chose to intimidate devotees by slapping false cases on those who raised the issue. Questioning whether such a practice exists anywhere else, he asked if the Constitution of India has been replaced by a “Red Book Constitution” in the state.

K.K. Raju said the coalition government’s functioning has become reprehensible, with all major institutions already weakened and temple administration now pushed into chaos. Turning temples into political arenas has led to such disgraceful incidents, he said. He added that it is deeply painful that devotees, who approach temples with faith and closed eyes, are now forced to carefully inspect prasadam before consuming it. This situation, he said, reflects the complete failure and insensitivity of the government towards both faith and governance.
