Tadepalli, March 8: Former Minister RK Roja and YSRCP Women’s Wing President and MLC Varudu Kalyani criticized the coalition government on International Women’s Day, asserting it lacks the moral right to celebrate due to nine months of broken promises to women.

RK Roja stated the government has been betraying women by discarding election assurances, contrasting this with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, which she said brought true empowerment through schemes like house allotments, Cheyutha, Aasara, Amma Vodi, and zero-interest loans, all in women’s names. She praised YS Jagan for enhancing women’s dignity, granting them 50% nominated posts, and ensuring their social, economic, and political progress.

Roja charged the coalition with plunging women into fear and insecurity by dismantling safety measures like the Disha App and Disha Police Stations, while slamming CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Home Minister Anitha for lacking respect for women and failing to deliver.
Kalyani reinforced this, highlighting the non-implementation of promised schemes like Super Six and Mahashakti, free bus travel, and pensions for marginalized women, unlike Jagan’s impactful initiatives such as Amma Vodi. She accused the government of neglecting its commitments post-election.
Both leaders blamed the coalition for rising harassment and violence against women, linked to unchecked liquor and ganja trade, and labeled Pawan Kalyan a “betrayer of women” for exploiting their issues politically without action in power. Roja warned that women statewide would reject this government, predicting a strong backlash against its misrule.
