Tadepalli, May 17: Former Member of Parliament Margani Bharat has launched a scathing attack on the coalition government, harassing honest officials, shielding corrupt practices, and failing to deliver on promises to the people. Bharat stated that the government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, is resorting to vendetta politics and illegal arrests to divert attention from its administrative failures and financial mismanagement.
Bharat claims that the government is intimidating IAS and IPS officers using a so-called "Red Book," targeting those who uphold integrity while favoring loyalists to suppress dissent. "Instead of fulfilling electoral promises, the government is resorting to harassment and diversionary tactics," Bharat stated.
He highlighted the state's declining industrial landscape, noting that entrepreneurs are fleeing Andhra Pradesh due to an unfavorable business environment. Bharat specifically pointed to the Jindal Group's relocation to Maharashtra as evidence of the government's failure to attract investment, despite high-profile trips to events like Davos.
A massive liquor scam during Naidu's previous tenure siphoned off over Rs. 10,000 crore in public funds. Bharat contrasted this with the Rs. 26,000 crore revenue generated during former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's administration, questioning how a supposed liquor scam under Jagan could have yielded such substantial income. "Under Naidu's current regime, liquor sales are flourishing through illicit channels, including WhatsApp and permit rooms, yet state revenues remain stagnant. Where is this money going?" Bharat demanded.
The honest officials are being sidelined, while handpicked loyalists in special investigation teams are being used to carry out unlawful detentions. Bharat also raised concerns about the transfer of jail officials, suggesting a sinister motive to employ "third-degree" tactics against detainees. "Power is not permanent. Naidu and Lokesh will face the consequences of every illegal arrest," he warned.
Bharat further highlighted the plight of farmers, who are protesting due to the lack of fair prices for their crops. He urged the government to prioritize farmers' welfare and stop filing frivolous cases to suppress dissent. "The people of Andhra Pradesh deserve better. This government has turned the state into Liquor andhra Pradesh,' prioritizing liquor profits over public welfare," Bharat said.
