Kadapa, Aug 2: YSRCP has pooh-poohed the coalition government for its meagre amount being given to farmers in the name of Annadatha Sukhibhava going back on its poll promise and said they will voice the concerns of the deceived sections of people.
Speaking to media here on Saturday, former MLA Rachmallu Siva Prasad Reddy said, though the coalition has promised to give Rs 20,000 under Annadatha Sukhibhava other than the Centre’s share, but now it has been boasting of implementing the poll promise by just crediting Rs 5,000.
The government owes Rs 40,000 to every farmer as it failed to give the amount last year and the number of beneficiaries was cut down from 53 lakh to 46 lakh which shows that Chandrababu Naidu is anti-farmer and stands by his earlier remark that agriculture is a waste is being manifested in every action of the government.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given Rs 13,500 to the farmers for all the five years as his government has cared for farmers, while all Chandrababu wants is real estate with scant respect to farmers and agriculture.
While the input cost going up with the cost of fertilizers, pesticides and seeds increasing manifold on one side and the farmers not getting MSP and the produce could not be sold for a profit, be it tobacco, chili, mango or others, the State has done away with the safety net provided by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government to come to the rescue in difficult times.
Demanding answers to the pointed questions, he asked as to why the full amount due under Annadatha Sukhibhava not being given and an explanation should be given as to why the number of beneficiaries has come down besides the lack of agriculture implements, crop insurance and other measures were done away with.
Bypoll
On the local body bypolls, he said, we are not afraid of cases. It is basically a seat of YSR family and the fight is not between YSRCP and TDP but it is with police.
We are not afraid of police or jails. We will fight the bypoll with the popularity of YS Jagan and his family, he said adding that why so much of concentration has been put on such a small bypoll.
