Chandrababu’s Wasteful Expenditure On Davos Trips Exposed

Senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy questioned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's trips to the World Economic Forum sessions in Davos in Switzerland. In a Tweet he said that crores of rupees were being spent for the Davos trip by Chandrababu . He said that Chandrababu was never invited by the WEF as being claimed, but he paid a staggering $3.22 lakhs dollars, as delegate fees from government funds to attend the conference, apart from the chartered private planes that he takes to go to Switzerland along with his entourage.

In the past four trips Chandrababu has been claiming that he has signed MoUs with various International companies, but till date not a single company has entered the state.

-In the 2015 trip Chandrababu spoke about an understanding with Spain regarding a Bullet Train concept, Walmart DWACRA Tie - up for promoting the self- help group products, selling Konaseema Coconut water through Pepsico and setting up of a plant by Airbus for plane manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh, the Rajya Sabha member pointed out.

-In the 2016 trip he spoke about agreements with Lockheed Martin Corp- the world’s biggest defence contractor, for manufacturing Defence equipment, a mega textile park worth Rs 2000 Crores, an agreement to set up a mega IT campus in Viskahpatnam with Infosys.

-Vijayasai Reddy said that similarly, in the 2017 trip the AP chief minister spoke about agreements with Saudi Aramco oil refinery, starting Visa and MasterCard operations, and setting up a center for Hybrid Cloud technologies with the support of Microsoft.

-Last year in the 2018 trip, Chandrababu spoke about Hitachi operations and seeking support from Fran Hoffer for establishing companies in AP. He also spoke about setting up of MediTech Innovations Center spread over 2000 acres and a Cloud data center with Alibaba.
