Avinash Reddy slams “yellow media” for glorifying fake voting in by-polls

Pulivendula, 14 August: Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy strongly criticized the yellow media for publishing “shameless” reports about the counting in the Pulivendula and Ontimitta ZPTC by-elections, which, he said, were conducted through large-scale bogus voting.
Speaking to the media at the Pulivendula party office, Avinash Reddy asked how such elections, where voters were prevented from reaching polling stations and votes were cast illegally, could be called democratic. He alleged that the TDP, in collusion with yellow media, is trying to divert public attention from its misdeeds and falsely project the elections as free and fair.
Avinash Reddy cited the Eenadu daily’s front-page headline claiming “counting suspense” and Minister Nara Lokesh’s statement that “democracy has prevailed” as examples of deliberate misinformation. He asserted that everyone in Pulivendula knows the results were predetermined due to one-sided, bogus voting. He accused the yellow media of creating a false narrative for people outside the region, portraying voters as having enthusiastically exercised their franchise.
He stated that YSRCP has already exposed with evidence that massive fake voting took place, yet unethical reports continue. He said police and TDP cadres worked together to station thousands of ruling party workers at polling stations, intimidate voters, prevent agents from entering, tear up agent forms, and assault them.
“Can this be called polling? Can this be called an election? Our cadre need not be disheartened—those who committed such atrocities will be taught a lesson democratically, and that day is not far,” he declared.
