Guntur, May 17: The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, nearing its first year in power, has resorted to a disturbing pattern of unlawful arrests and politically motivated persecution, targeting opposition leaders and public servants. Former Minister Ambati Rambabu strongly condemned these actions, asserting that the government’s tenure has been marked by oppression rather than progress. “The coalition’s rule is defined by illegal arrests, not governance. From political leaders to IAS, IPS officers, no one is spared from fabricated cases and detentions,” Rambabu said.
The arrests of senior IAS officer Dhanunjaya Reddy and OSD Krishna Mohan Reddy, who served in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy governance, exemplify this vendetta. These actions mirror past tactics by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who, in collusion with the Congress party, previously imprisoned YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on baseless charges. “Chandrababu’s history of vindictive politics is well-known. His current actions stem from personal grudges, including his own imprisonment in the skill development scam, prompting him to target YSRCP leaders and officials,” Rambabu stated.
Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh exploiting their authority, likening their actions to “riding a tiger” that will eventually turn against them. Government using these arrests as a diversion from unfulfilled promises, such as the Ammavodi and other welfare schemes, which remains in demand among the public. “The arrests of Dhanunjaya Reddy and Krishna Mohan Reddy are steeped in political conspiracy. This is a deliberate attempt to suppress dissent and distract from the government’s failures,” he added.
Rambabu vowed to fight these injustices through legal avenues. “We will not be intimidated by illegal cases. Our battle will be waged in the courts, and we will expose this misuse of power,” he affirmed. He called on the people of Andhra Pradesh to recognize the coalition’s tactics and stand against this erosion of democratic values.
