Felicitation In Honour Of What?

  • AP CM’s greed for
    money
  • Compromise with the
    centre for cancellation of cases
  • Special status gone –
    Greed for commissions
  • Felicitations to
leaders who went back on their word
  • YS Jagan’s movement
for the future of the state

Hyderabad: YSRCP has heated up its struggle for special category status,
the right of five crore people of AP. The leader of opposition in AP, YS Jagan,
has been fighting relentlessly for the cause. In order for the state of AP to
recover from the loss caused by bifurcation and develop, special status should
be given. When the PM of that time promised to sanction special category status
to AP for five years, opposition BJP suggested the sanction should be for 10
years and TDP suggested it should be for 15 years. The same thing was also mentioned
in the election manifesto of TDP. But after coming into power, both BJP and TDP
ignored the people of AP. With CM who has to fight for the status remaining
dormant, the opposition leader YS Jagan took over his shoulders, the responsibility
of the future of the people of AP.

Fight everywhere
ranging from AP to Delhi

Special status is an
elixir for AP that has faced loss due to the state’s reorganisation. YSRCP
president YS Jagan has fought relentlessly at New Delhi and in AP, demanding
for the sanction of the status to AP. On the 10th of August in 2015,
YSRCP MPs, MLAs and MLCs staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. On the
13th of October in the same year, in demand for special status, YS
Jagan held indefinite hunger strike to proclaim the need for the status as PM
Narendra Modi was expected in the state soon. But his strike was interrupted
with the help of the police within seven days. On the 10th of May in
2016, YS Jagan held a Maha Dharna in front of district collectorate in East
Godavari district. He has been conducting programmes like Yuvabheri throughout the
state to proclaim the importance of special category status and to bring about
awareness among the youth on the topic.

Special status
mortgaged

CM Chandrababu has
mortgaged the self-respect and rights of five crore people of AP for his
selfish benefits. To get out of Cash for Vote case registered against him, Babu
has entered into compromise with the centre. Moreover, knowing that sanction of
special package will allow him to rob more than that of special category
status, TDP leaders have gotten ready to deceive people of AP and welcome the
package. As part of this, immediately on the next day of announcing that
special status would not be given, the centre gave the state Government an opportunity
to raise estimations of Polavaram project contracts. This can be said as the
first benefit TDP Government got from mortgaging special category status. Babu
has gotten ready to exploit Polavaram project that has been the dream of people
of AP for decades. Whenever the centre came forward to complete the national
project, Babu said no to the idea in greed for commissions, bringing Pattiseema
scheme to the picture.

Felicitations in
honour of what?

After demanding for
special category status in the parliament at that time, BJP went back on its
word after coming into power. It is unfortunate that the leaders of such a
party are being felicitated by the state. While the people of AP are coming
onto the roads to protest in demand of the status, Chandrababu is employing the
police to keep the peace as Venkaiah Naidu is being felicitated. People are demanding
to know for what reason felicitations, welcome ceremonies and rallies are being
held in honour of Venkaiah Naidu. They are furious towards the pretense of BJP
and TDP in the matter of the status. They are unable to digest the statements
by Chandrababu like “is special status a wonder drug?”, “will the state become
a paradise if it is sanctioned?”, “will mother-in-law object if a
daughter-in-law wants to give birth to a baby boy?” and Venkaiah Naidu’s
comparison of status with the organs hung around cattle’s heads. They are owing
to teach BJP and TDP a lesson soon and earn special status, joining hands with
YSRCP.
